Overview

Le Djoliba is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Paris's 3rd arrondissement, offering an authentic African dining experience. Located at 6 Rue Blondel, this modest and cozy spot brings the rich flavors of West African cuisine to life without any pretense. The space is intimate and warm, ideal for those seeking a genuine atmosphere rather than a polished, upscale setting. Reservations are recommended, as the small venue fills quickly with locals and travelers alike.

The menu at Le Djoliba shines through its traditional dishes such as Yassa Poulet and Attiéké Poulet Braisé Alloco, delivering bold, soulful flavors typical of Senegalese and Ivorian culinary heritage. Highlights like Dibi Viande and Poisson Braisé Aka Mo Nèkhe offer perfectly grilled meats and fish, seasoned with vibrant spices. The inclusion of sides like plantain (alloco) complements the main dishes, adding a touch of sweetness and texture that enchants every palate.

Service here matches the food’s warmth. Diners consistently praise the staff’s friendly and helpful nature, noting their genuine hospitality even when language barriers arise. This creates an inviting environment that feels more like sharing a meal with friends than a typical restaurant encounter.

Le Djoliba is tailored for adventurous food lovers who appreciate cultural authenticity and hearty flavors. It’s a perfect choice for those craving a taste of Africa in the midst of Paris, whether you’re a seasoned fan of the cuisine or discovering it for the first time. While the venue may lack the frills of trendier establishments, its culinary integrity and sincere ambiance more than make up for it. Don’t miss trying the ginger juice—a local favorite that offers an intense, refreshing kick alongside your meal.

In summary, Le Djoliba offers an unpretentious, memorable dining experience where food, culture, and kindness intertwine. This spot is a must for anyone seeking rich African flavors paired with a welcoming vibe in central Paris.

Food is good in quality and quantity. With a reasonable price, you'll enjoy Senegalese cuisine cooked and served by the locals. Simple and tasty!

As visitors to Paris we were looking for gems that aren't the usual fare for travellers. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent considering our French is quite rusty. This was so good we debated going back when only staying Paris three nights!

The food is delicious! You can either eat at the restaurant or do a takeaway. On Saturdays they have some discount prices. I definitely recommend if you want to try some ethnic west African food.
